Well, I just found out I'm preganant this morning...10 days along so far.
So, I will add my self to the list. I'll be planning my first VBAC for November. My last birth was planned to be a homebirth but I transferred and ended up with a csec. I am hoping I can have an HBAC.

Good luck to all of us VBACers!!

Amy

Mama to DS1 (4/04) DS2 (HBAC 11/06) DS3 (HBAC 12/08) DS4 (HBAC 1/11). Wife to one handsome hard working DH.

I too am planning a hospital VBAC, sometime in the next few weeks. I wish I could have had a HBAC (our initial plan) but we just couldn't afford it. Since the only local hospital that allows VBACs is an hour away, we are planning to labor in a hotel nearby so who knows, maybe we'll wind up with a UBAC!

Planning a VBAC - had a c-section with DS, who was 2 weeks late and went into distress when CNM tried to use cervical ripening insert (to preserve the CHANCE of a natural birth).

Hoping for a different outcome, but a little nervous - in some ways I feel like a first-time laboring mom?! "What do contractions feel like?" everyone says "you'll know?!" I hope so!

Baby due in mid-april.

... but not a lot of time to post. I've had 2 HBAC's while here on MDC. And Man Cub #4 is nearing his 1st birthday.

And I have to say that my HBAC's were the single most life affirming experiences I have had thus far.

Bright blessings and belly rubs to all of you on your journey towards your births.

I know what you mean about it not being very VBAC-friendly. My friend has told me some horror stories about bait-and-switch with OBs.

Hmmmm---I just heard a rumor that there *may* be an amish midwife in Farmville. The suggestion was to go to the local Amish furniture store and inquire. Just a possibility....

Just wanted to give you all an update. I had a successful, no-drugs VBAC 3/21 at our local hospital. It was very hectic and I ended up with a pretty brutal tear (he was posterior and they tried to turn him, but couldn't...he popped out anyway). Everything turned out great, though, and I'm finding a 3rd degree tear to be an easier recovery than my previous c-section. Bub is doing well, BF-ing well (I didn't BF my first for very long due to all sorts of c-section related issues). His name is Henry Gordon and we're calling him Harry.

Cee3---Thanks for the encouragement! I had a 2nd degree tear with my vbac (she was posterior and did turn last minute) and I'd have to agree that, while tearing is not fun, it's infinitely better than a section!

Sending fast recovery vibes to you and congratulations and welcome to Harry!!!!!

You gonna write up his entire birth story when you have time? I'd love to read it!

Planning a second VBAC in July '06. The first was a hospital birth. For now I am planning a hospital birth, but very seriously considering an HBAC.

I am not pregnant yet, but when I am, I will be planning either a VBAC, or a HBAC if I can convince DH

I am due Aug 30 and planning a second hospital VBAC. Due to insurance issues, we are uncertain if a midwife will attend or an OB. I plan on going to the hospital late LATE and if the baby arrives at home, it does.
