Some of my episiotomy stitches have opened...I'm a week post partum and the midwife says nothing we can do now...just keep clean and be careful and it will heal.

Has anyone had this happen and heal up okay? I'm kind of stressing out now.

Me!
9 weeks ago, I tore (no epi with this babe!) 1st degree, maybe inch, inch and a half long. I was also about a week pp, constipation is what popped mine I healed so well and so FAST. I did not do the sitz baths, I poured catnip and rosemary tea over my bottom after peeing and kept it dry the rest of the time. I didn't want to "waterlog" my tissues, yk.

Now, it is much more open. Looks totally strange to me, but feels fine. I waited til I was about 3 weeks pp before I was truely brave enough to feel around and it is different, but not scary or bad I've even DTD a few times and it feels great. No problems at all in that department!

Hope that makes you feel a little better. I have a feeling it happens so much more than anyone would really think.
