I'm due in about two days with #4...

So I am terrified about my afterpains... My midwife said to do whatever I wanted bascially... I had mentioned that I had a couple Vicodin that I was considering taking right after delivery... She said it was fine... but she also recommended looking into Mag Phos.... or course Motrin would be important too she said.

Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on Mag Phos? How much... how often... How effective is it? Would I take it immediately after delivery? Would I use Mag Phos INSTEAD another pain reliever... or both. I am happy to alternate Motrin/Tylenol... but with my last it just wasn't enough... I literally thought I was going to die... Which is so crazy being that I feel like I can live thru childbirth medication free but not the afterpains... LOL... So I have Vicodin I saved from this year... but I really don't want to dope myself and baby up... but I'm feeling desperate.

I feel really lame and have no idea why I feel like my pains were so severe last time... maybe it was because I was not prepared for them being so bad... But I would like to do what I can to make them better this time around...

Any recommendations on Mag Phos would be greatly appreciated...
