For mamas who follow a nature-based and/or Goddess-centered faith, how are planning on celebrating your pregnancy, labor and birth? I've been thinking more about this since I'm getting closer to my EDD and I have some plans but I'd love to hear what other mamas are doing. I'm solitary so I'm not having a blessingway but I am doing meditation and visualization. I did that during labor with my DD (hospital birth) and it really helped me focus and keep my stress levels down while in the hospital. I brought very little with me because I was afraid of judgement from the staff but I did wear a moonstone pentacle pendant and kept a few small tokens in my bag.

I'm having a homebirth this time so I'm setting up a small altar next to my bed. I have some favorite items that will go there as well as some new things I picked up during the course of this pregnancy. I have some candles and I'm planning on opening up all the windows next week (when I hit full term) and (lightly) smudging the house to cleanse it before I birth here. I also plan on doing a small ritual on my own before the baby comes for protection, guidance and strength.

So how are you planning on celebrating and/or preparing for birth? Are you planning on doing something with your DP/DH? I'd love to get some more ideas!
