Anyone BTDT?

I'm 4 weeks pp. Pushed REALLY hard for 33 minutes, got a 2nd degree tear. Was extremely swollen for a good 5 days, then moderately swollen for another week after that. Was really achy (standing was tough) for the first 2 weeks.

Things have finally calmed down down there, but I still have a nagging tender spot. At first I thought it was where my stitches were and that they were pulling (there was also always fresh blood coming from that area for the first 3 weeks). Now that I've investigated further, I see that there is a flap of labia that maybe should be on the inside, that is now on the outside - as if the Doc didn't stitch me up quite right. It is just the tiniest little bit of skin, but it is really tender, and causes me discomfort every day (almost as if the flap gets pinched in the elastic of my underwear... it doesn't, but that is what it feels like).

I wonder if that skin will ever 'toughen up' and be happy with an existence on the outside... anyone have something like this happen to them?

It is possible you are growing extra tissue in your scar. That's what happened to me. The OBGYN cauterized it twice (didn't work the first time). It was pretty painful, that little flap of skin. Have you seen your OB or midwife about it yet?
