DD1: It came back at 4 months, while I was still exclusively breastfeeding.
DS2: It came back at...think it was 14 months, maybe 15?
DD2: She's 14.5 months...nothing yet.

Loving my amazing dh, James & forever missing Aaron Ambrose (11/07)
ds1 was a hard induction labor with lots of meds and he was born sleepy. he was (regretably) circed at 2 days and went into a bit of shock, so the sleepiness went on and on. i had to wake him to nurse for at least the 1st month if not more. i didnt start out cosleeping, it took about 6-8 wks for me to figure out that i could/should do that. i didnt get a sling until about 3mos. although we never used bottles, ds had a wicked double ear infection at 6wks and i pumped and spoon fed for the bulk of his feedings for a day or two. and his 1st bite of solids was 4 mos, bc i gave in to his dad who wanted to feed him, but after that first few spoonfuls of cereal, we held off til 6 or 7 mos.
ds2 had a spontaneous labor and no pain meds. he was born wide awake and nursed great from the get-go. we coslept from his first night. he went into the sling at about 3 days old. i tried one bottle at about 4 mos right after a huge nursing just to see what he would do, but other than that i never pumped. i held off on solids for much longer than with ds1.
All were EBF, on demand. We co-sleep. And, no solids until 12 months.

dd1 around 6mo (she was still nursing round the clock)
dd2 around 9mo (while tandem nursing)
ds it hasn't returned yet and he is 12.5mo
Second 16 months, unmedicated VBAC, no paci, no bottle, nursing on demand. Way less demanding baby.
kid 2 was a super velcro baby. I didn't get my period back til 14m, with a sterile first cycle.
kid 3 i got my period back at 8m with two sterile cycles.

Mama to 3 awesome girls: DD1 born 2001, DD2 born 2002, DD3 born March 2011
2nd baby: 4 months
Both were EBF'd with no pacifiers. Each got the occasional bottle but I pumped for every missed feed. Both times, my period came back (and I felt the tell-tale ovulation signs 2 weeks prior) right after the baby started going more than 4 or so hours at night without nursing. I guess my body must be very sensitive to that.
And, once it was back, it was back. They both regressed in sleep but my period was there to stay.

Mama to DD1-4y DS-3y DD2-21m
baby#2 - came back at 10 months
baby#3 - I'm nearing 15 months PP and it still hasn't returned....time will tell...
all three were exclusively BFed around the clock, no bottles ever
Dd2 - 13 months (I think). I had spotting the day I had my IUD placed. The midwife said it was probably my period. I just didn't think that was the case because I was 7 weeks postpartum and she was nursing every 1.5-2 hours throughout the day. Following the Mirena being placed I had intermittent spotting (only remember seeing it when I wiped) until I removed it. I don't recall having an actual cycle until the month after I removed it and when her nighttime feedings decreased.
Ds2 - We're closing up on 9 months and nothing yet. He still nurses frequently. We co-sleep. My girls did as well.
Aeona - married to super hot nerd Toby . . . mama to Grace (10) Evangeline (8) Duncan 11.14.08 , Henry (5) born at home and Ruby, 11.27.14.
What was common to both situations was that they did not nurse (nor did I pump)during the day on the days I WOH (with DS1 I wanted to eat to try eating with coworkers, with DS2 he had a daycare only nursing strike and would not nurse in that setting). Anyway I think going 8-9 hours without nursing or pumping was what jump started my periods.
2nd baby: 6 months to the day (tandem nursing)
3rd baby: he'll be 6 months next week, and nothing so far. no tandem nursing and he takes the occasional paci.
