Just had my 3rd cesarean (no choice and no fun) and Eli is now almost 6 weeks old.  Picked up and carried my 2 1/2 year old and have been in major pain since then, around the scar.  My doc says it's either an infection or a hernia, and I am not to carry ANYTHING (no stroller, carseat, etc) for the next two weeks + wear an abdominal support belt, and see if the pain subsides.  If not, it's probably a hernia and I have to see a surgeon.  Anybody been through this?  What's the deal?

I see nobody ever replied to this. Well, I didn't have a c-section but I did develop a hernia during this last pregnancy. I met with a surgeon and he said it will not get better on its own and will likely get worse. He did say I could wait until I'm done breastfeeding to get it fixed though. He said I won't be able to do any heavy lifting (over 20 pounds) for a MONTH after the surgery. Mine aches but it's not excrutiating so I plan to live with it until the kids are much older. It has gotten slightly worse since I started PT for diastasis rectic and POP.

I'm so sorry! I am going to move this to Birth and Beyond where it might get more of a response.
