Today on 'Birth Day' on the Discovery Health Channel (aka medical birth) they had a WONDERFUL home birth! The baby was good sized AND had shoulder dystocia. It will be on again this afternoon. I am going to tape it for DH so he can see an 'emergency' being handled at a homebirth. A really EXCELLENT show!!!

Well I couldn't pay too close of attention this morning (so I am going to tape it this afternoon) but from what I could see the mw had her hand in a bit and then fliped the mom over to a hands and knees postion and helped 'lead' the shoulders out of the pelvic. It looked a little painful - but the mom didn't scream or make any sounds......

Yeah I saw it. Great episode and showed the hands and knees position for shoulder dystocia. It was so refreshing...
