There seems to be no shortage of anecdotal evidence that high doses of calcium and magnesium in late pregnancy can potentially shorten labor and reduce pain. I'm curious how many MDC mama's have found this to be the case? If you tried it, what sort of dosage were you taking? Which supplements were you using (OTC tablets, Floradix, Natural Calm, etc.)? When did you start?

I'm hoping this works. Labor with DS wasn't short but it was easy peasy in hindsight (I had been taking magnesium and consuming a lot of dairy the last four weeks for something else). Labor with DD was a few hours shorter but very painful. I'd like to avoid doing that again if I can.
