Hello! I'm 30 weeks pregnant and just left my OB's office in tears. I want as natural of a birth as possible but seem to be clashing heads with the culture in my area. The whole process is reminding me of cattle being herded to become food..

Does anyone have any recommendations for Birthing Centers in the Bay Area or a perhaps midwife? We would be willing to drive a reasonable distance since I'm fairly sure there are no such facilities in Pleasanton. Also, we live in a small one bedroom apartment so a midwife would probably be a last resort, but do-able. I've looked online without much luck so I wanted to reach out further.

Thank you in advance!

I'm sorry that your OB isn't going to give you what you want, but it's great that you are looking for other options.

Here is a birth center locator:

And a midwife finder tool:

Thank you for your help and kind words! I used both search engines and the closest places are over two hours away.. I'm researching a facility in Berkeley (East Bay Home Birth) right now and they are 45 min away so that's not too bad.

*deep breath* I know it will all work out.

A HUGE recommendation for Beah Haber at the East Bay center. I personally know her family as well as moms who have given birth with her. She is an incredible woman and completely worth the drive! Good luck smile.gif
