I had my second VBAC a week ago. I had a peri-urethral tear and a 2nd degree tear both repaired with stitches. Is it normal for them to itch a bit? I have't had stitches before and in the last few days I've noticed them itching. Is this normal?

I think some itchiness with healing is normal, but if it starts to hurt or feel swollen in the site where the stitches are, there could be a possible infection.

Thanks. It's getting better. I've been using witch hazel and just soaking in the tub once a day and that seems to have helped. I'm just ready for them to be gone and to feel normal. smile.gif
