Anyone else experience 3rd/4th degree tearing?

When my son was born, I experienced 3rd/4th degree tearing from use of the forceps. Unfortunately my own doctor was out of town, so it was a doctor on call who delivered him. I was not crazy about how she treated me and I have since heard other horror stories about her. So anyway, this brings me to my question for anyone who has had that kind of tearing : Were you repaired right there in the delivery room? From what I have been reading, the repairs normally take place in an actual surgery room, possibly by a specialist. I'm just curious if it is abnormal that I was repaired right there in the room by her.
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hi Christie11, sorry to hear you had such a rotten experience. I had a 3rd degree tear from my first birth and was stitched up right there in the delivery room. But I birthed in Ontario, Canada. Where did you birth?

What do you think of your repair? Did she do a good job? Are you considering having it redone?

I had 4th degree tearing with my first, and 3rd degree with my second. Both times they were repaired in the delivery room right after delivering the placenta.
My recovery from the first tear was much worse, but I'm not sure if that us due to having two different drs or the degree, or another factor. I had internal scaring from the first and it took just about a year afterwards to have successful intercourse. No scaring from the second and it was more like 4 months or so until intercourse wasn't painful.
