It's cute anyway...check it out.

Oooh, I'm a measly 71%. I wonder how the questions are scored. Am I less pure because I've never birthed anywhere but home?
teachinmaof3's Avatar teachinmaof3 11:50 PM 06-06-2005
Cute!

I'm 84% pure.
Pandora114's Avatar Pandora114 11:53 PM 06-06-2005
I dunno, mabe you score less if you want to have more kids? LOL it's just something real cute to share with ya'll.
Artisan's Avatar Artisan 11:59 PM 06-06-2005
74% here. I am still not sure what pure means.
Leilalu's Avatar Leilalu 12:05 AM 06-07-2005
Am I impure at a measly 75% because my kids never wanted to come out and I HAD to have c-sections?
lisamarie's Avatar lisamarie 12:06 AM 06-07-2005
interesting, i'm a 79.

warmly-

(*chuckle*) 97% pure. But that is probably because I had to answer "NO" to most of the questions! The only ones that I could say "YES" to were:

Have you ever subscribed to more than one parenting magazine at a time?
Do you own more than 25 pregnancy/childbirth books?
Do you plan to have more children?

Well, I definitely plan on having SOME children, and even one is more than what I have now!
MelKnee's Avatar MelKnee 12:32 AM 06-07-2005

mamaroni's Avatar mamaroni 12:59 AM 06-07-2005
oh, sorry your feelings got hurt!

I have to admit I was taken aback when I first saw my score of 73%, but I did think it was funny.
farmer mama's Avatar farmer mama 01:03 AM 06-07-2005
I think for every "yes" you get a percentage point off. So if you have all no's, you are 100% pure. If you answer "yes" to birthing at home you get a point off just as if you answered "yes" to having an elective c-section. What does pure mean anyway? I think it means lack of experience or outside info, maybe? So if you go all out and experience the full pregnancy thing with photos, blessings, RRL, you are going to be docked more points, so don't feel bad. Screwy test.
scheelimama's Avatar scheelimama 01:06 AM 06-07-2005
83% here, interesting
Storm Bride's Avatar Storm Bride 01:10 AM 06-07-2005
91% - extremely weird. A lot of those questions don't even apply to me, because I've never laboured all the way to the end. That's a weird test.
Belle's Avatar Belle 01:13 AM 06-07-2005
hmmm, I'm 76% pure. Some of them were funny, but I don't really get what pure means.
CaliMommie's Avatar CaliMommie 01:16 AM 06-07-2005
79% here, I wonder how they are calculating it?
thismama's Avatar thismama 01:20 AM 06-07-2005

That's what I think. I got a 79% and have had 3 uncomplicated homebirths (one was a water birth) with no meds or epidural or episiotomy.
Kleine Hexe's Avatar Kleine Hexe 01:23 AM 06-07-2005
I'm 72% most likely due to my induced labor turned c-section. My second birth was as pure as they come.
WinterWillow's Avatar WinterWillow 01:24 AM 06-07-2005
85%
I don't get what pure means either
maxnmaizy's Avatar maxnmaizy 01:25 AM 06-07-2005
I'm the average - 85%. So I am less pure b.c. my ds chose to be posterior. I know it's just a light hearted quiz, but just wondering also what "pure" is. What do you think mamas? :
farmer mama's Avatar farmer mama 01:28 AM 06-07-2005
Again, I think any yes takes a percentage point off, so it isn't really based on anything.
Kleine Hexe's Avatar Kleine Hexe 01:35 AM 06-07-2005
My definition of "pure" is no meds, no induction, no cuts, no messing with membranes not even stripping, no CFM, no timeline, no machines that go ping, no VE every hour by everyone who walks in, no IV, no forced pushing, no withholding food or water. Just mom and baby working together to birth the way we were made to birth without interuption and/or intervention.

You are 87% pure.
MonicaS's Avatar MonicaS 02:04 AM 06-07-2005
I got 85%.

I agree that I think of a truly, 100% pure birth as the kind of birth you could have completely alone w/ a healthy mom and baby outcome, where the only things done are the things that come instinctually. Sort of in "Blue Lagoon" fashion. kwim?
Ligmom's Avatar Ligmom 02:36 AM 06-07-2005
Mine said 64% oh well...

I think its just a gimick to draw traffic to their site - they know tests like this are popular and so by having a test like this they can draw in people to view their site. It's obviously exactly that - answering all no gives you 100%, all yes 0%. Meaningless really.

Ohhhh, wise sage. It is all clear now.
flapjack's Avatar flapjack 10:52 AM 06-07-2005
I'm a mere 65% pure- obviously, I should have lied about stripping my own membranes... They missed a question- did you wet yourself laughing whilst taking this test? :
