Skip to page 13, at the bottom it says "Episiotomy- damage to perineal body".
It is damage... and perhaps there are situations where it's better to have that than major abdominal surgery but I'm not keen on the mainstream idea that it's a normal part of birth.
Damaged- that's how my perineum felt for a few years after my episiotomy.
