I don't use the term "natural birth" when I teach classes anymore. I use "unmedicated" just to be sure there is no confusion.

I guess I should explain that I see cesareans as pretty darned unnatural (though an important option in emergencies). And I think drug-free, intervention-free vaginal births are the standard that should be available for everyone and which everyone should want to strive for. But where does one draw the line? Does my hep lock in my last birth mean that it wasn't "natural"? Are these polls just set up to divide us, rather than to unite us?
