How many of you or your significant others were "big" at birth and then went on to have "big" babies and vice-versa. Not including those with gestational diabetes.
I was over 10lbs. at birth and so far have only had 2 8 pounders.
My cousin was only 6.5lbs. at birth and her DH was over 10lbs. at birth and has one DD who was 7lbs. 11oz. at birth. She is due with a boy at the end of April, we wonder how much he is going to weigh. She had her 20 week ultrasound and he was measuring right on.
I hope this was the right place to post this.
Our first was 7lbs9oz (induced at 38.5 weeks PreE)
our second was 8lbs8oz at 39 weeks

DD was born at 37 weeks (all natural, no complications) at 5 lbs 15 oz.
I was certain that I'd have a small baby. DH's family kept laughing at me (of course they weren't sure I'd manage a nstural birth, BF, CD, etc either )
SAHM to DD1 8/06 , DD2 8/09 , and DD3 9/12 married to 6/99. We , , , , and lots of and .

LIFEschooling. Extended NAKing. Graduated cloth diaperer.
DH: 9 lbs, 19 inches; two weeks "late." Not sure how much MIL gained.
DD1: 9 lbs, 22 inches; two weeks early. I gained 25 lbs.
DD2: 8 lbs 9 oz, 21 inches; one weeks early. I gained nothing; I was 7 lbs under pre-pregnancy weight the day I was admitted.
So their weight was in between. My midwife said if we ever have a boy she wouldn't be surprised if he was 10-11 lbs. I wouldn't mind it.

DS1 was 6 lbs 8 oz
ds2 and dd's father was 8 lbs 7 oz
ds2 was 7 lbs 15 oz
dd was 9 lbs 5 oz
My 1st baby was 9#,2 oz and my 2nd was 7#,3oz
Both my dh and I have big heads and I was more worried about that than anything, cuz once you birth the head, the rest is cake!
And sure 'nuf, both kids heads were in the 95th percentiles!
ds1: 7 lbs 3 oz, 20.5" @ 40w4d
ds2: 6 lbs 8 oz, 19" @ 40w5d (two knots in cord prob limited his growth somewhat)
dd: 6 lbs 13 oz, 20.5" @ 41w4d
so they're taking after daddy, but I'm pg long like my mom. FWIW - it's funny - you'd think we were tiny people with these wee babes - but I'm 5'9/155, and DH is 6'5/220.
The twins weighed 6lbs 5 oz and 7lbs 13oz @ 37 weeks.
DD weighed 9lbs 1 oz @ 39 weeks.
I had an U/S today to make sure the baby was head down, and had them tell me the approximate weight. Yeah, I know it can be off 2 lbs either way. Apparently she weighs around 7lbs 13oz and I'm 37 weeks, 5 days.
I was 8lbs 6oz.
DH was 6lbs 6oz.
DS1 was 10lbs 8oz
DS2 was 9lbs
All four of us were born within 4 days after our due dates.
My husband wheighed 9.5 pounds.
and The Nurture Center Store and Resource Center 3399 Mt Diablo Bl Lafayette CA 888-998-BABY
I was 7lb 6 oz.
DH was 9lb. 10 oz.
So, DD was right in between us. I was measuring ahead earlier in this pregnancy, but closer to on track now. We'll see how he measures Soon, hopefully!
C.- WOHM, CPST Instructor, and all around busy Mama to A.- 02/04, I. 01/07,E. 09/10 and
expecting the surprise of our lives Fall 2012!
DD was 8 lbs 7 oz, 20.5"
DS was 10 lbs 1 oz, 22"
We suspected DS was going to be big, but not THAT big! But his birth was way better than DD's (DS was born at home and no tearing at all)
My biological son was 7lb 8oz at 40 weeks 3 days and I gained 33 lbs. He is now 17 months old and 26lbs. The sperm donor we used is now 6'2", I don't know how big he was at birth.
DH thinks he was *probably* 7-something. (No one remembers, but they do know he wasn't extrodinarily large or small)
Our first dd was 7lbs 12oz at 41weeks and dd#2 was 8lbs 1oz at 41 weeks.
I was 9lbs7oz at birth, spent a week in the NICU for post-maturity, almost dying from all the complications.
DH was 6lbs6oz at birth, born to a mother who was told by her doc to gain absolutely no more than 15 pounds during pg.
We have four children.
Twins, 38w3d, with birth weights of 6lbs12oz and 6lbs8oz. Pre-eclampsia with symptoms beginning at 36w2d. Total weight gain of 17 pounds (225 at delivery).
Singleton, 38w0d, 8lbs10oz. No pre-e. Total weight gain of 34 pounds (230 at delivery).
Singleton, 37w1d, 7lbs8oz. Pre-e with symptoms beginning at 34w5d. Delivered 15 pounds less than pre-pg weight (250 at delivery).
I just have big babies if you ask me. My twin pg was the longest pg of the three, and they were good sizes for twins at that gestation. My two singletons were also big for the gestational age they were born at. I started all three pg very much overweight, the third by far being the worst, thus the overall weight loss. But my babies were all still pretty big at birth.
If I went to 42 weeks, I'd have 10 pounders easy I think. Of course, my blood pressure would never cooperate long enough for me to even get close to that point most likely.
