Has anybody else experienced a painless induced labour?
After 3 days of PROM, I agreed to an induction of labour via syntocinon drip. Over the course of 9 hours, my drip was turned waaaay up, the midwife said it was twice as high as what was usually required to establish labour.
During that time, I was monitored with CTG, and after about 6 hrs, it eventually showed I was having contractions, about 4 per 10 minutes. An internal showed that I wasn't dilated or effaced at all.
I couldn't feel those contractions. It wasn't that they didn't hurt - I literally couldn't feel them - I didn't know I was having one unless the CTG told me I was. Any ideas why? Could it be because my cervix wasn't effaced or dilated? Is it the cervix, not the uterus, that causes the pain? I'm so curious about this, because it's the opposite to everything that I have heard about induced labours - that they tend to be more painful.
So has anybody else experienced this?
