Miscarriage, I laboured for 2.5 hours and had one large push to expel the placenta in whole.
Expecting my 3rd and I have a feeling it will go even faster than the first!
My experience was to use visualization of being relaxed and open. I rode each contraction through, instead of fighting it. And I kept my lips and mouth relaxed by singing through each contraction. It was primal, but it worked!
Contractions started at 6am; we went to the hospital around 8am. First check at hospital I was 4cm; second check 15 minutes later I was 6cm. I was complete around 10am, started pushing around 10:10 and le babe was born at 10:30am.
Of course, I can't be sure whether I really started at 0, some people walk around dilated for weeks, if that is what you were asking. I had a VE three days before labor started, but the midwife didn't say anything about dilation. She did seem to think I could still stay pregnant for a week or two more.
So all told 10 hours...I was in labour from about 11:30 to 6 pm.
With DS, he was here within 2 hours of what I would call real labor. I had 2 hours of non-painful fun contractions.
Both were born at home.
ds2- I was 9cm when I got to the hospital 1 hour after waking up in labor. Long story later, I wasn't fully dialated for aouther 5 hours or so, and I only pushed 3 times.
ds3- 8 hours total maybe 5-10min pushing
With my 2nd, I had my first real contraction at 10-something, in active labor by midnight, and she was born at 3:23 am (or so).
As far as labor goes, my water broke before anything started, at 4AM and DS was born at 6PM, 14 hours later. I have no idea how the progression went, as we were at home with a doula who didn't do checks until an hour before he was born, when I got to the hospital and needed to push.

Then I moved to Ohhhhh! as I was getting ready to transition.
Then it was AAAAHHHHHHHHH! (Just like in Whale Rider) Louder and higher with each contraction. And it wasn't screaming, because it was controlled vocalization through the whole birth.
My poor dad was outside in the lobby wondering what in the heck was going on, and my midwives where like, "wow, that is surreal" and I was completely outside of myself, so the singing was really my primal being. It was cool.
I never had any exams with my MW with DD2, but I know I was several cm dilated again before labor started, this time labor was 8.5 hours long.
My water broke as my first sign of labor with all 3.
#1 - 14 hours.
#2 - 1hr. 40mins.
#3 - 8 hours (but 3 of that was waiting for contractions to start after water broke). And even then it was an easy labor.
Once I was allowed to push, they couldn't find our dd's heartbeat. I knew she was fine, but I knew I couldn't argue. So I was "forced" to push in the lithotomy position and endure an episiotomy. Grr!
second, i felt my cervix opening at the beach on my LMP dd (later than O dd)
i was at about 2 then.
labor started around 6 in the morning, i had him at almost 6 at night. we got to the bc about an hour before he was born. 45ish mins before, i was at 6cm. imo, it would have been faster if i didnt have crazy people at my house and stayed home. and no i wasnt working against or trying to hold him in
DS2 I'm sure I was somewhat dilated prior to labor beginning. 6.5 hours from water breaking to birth.
