HI all,

Well, I just realised that this would be a perfect place to ask other women who might have had the same thing, what their experiences were...

I had a home birth that ended in a bit of a botch with my placenta not being birthed after 1.5 hours (after 1/2 hour, i got various interventions to try and get it going - but nadda!) Anyway, it was all rather horrid having DS put in his car seat at 1.5 hours old, and DH freaking out.... and then surgery (minor) to get the placenta out....

OK, so my question is to other women who have had this happen and then had a subsequent pregnancy... did it happen again? Anyone heard any theories/treatments how to prevent it?? (this was my 1st birth, with no previous abortions/miscarraiges/fibroids etc)

I've been doing lots of "appreciation" work for my body and womb.... wondering if it could have an emotional element?????
