If anyone has had experience with an ectopic or has knowledge, let me know if this is something I should be worried about.

After my m/c in August, I finally got AF on October 10. It was a little heavier and longer than my usual AF. Plus, I had two positive HPTs before AF started. The positives were not from the previous m/c, as I had already had a negative hpt after that.

I had positive HPT on 10/8, and again on 10/10, although the one on 10/10 was lighter than the first. Then AF started so I figured that was a disappearing positive from a chemical pg.

So, I went on temping and charting waiting for O. On 10/20 I started spotting. I had a mini gush of red blood, then light spotting. Then yesterday, 10/22 I had a bigger gush, soaking a pantiliner. When I went to the bathroom, I was dripping blood into the toilet, and a big 4 or 5 inch clot came out.

I should be O'ing today. I have no pain, but the bleeding is odd and since I did have that positive hpt, I'm wondering if this might be an ectopic,

Any thoughts are welcome on this. Thanks so much!

thanks for the idea ... I hadn't thought of asking the midwives forum.

peace,

I second the MW forum.

Very confusing . . . . . .

Can you get an U/S?

Andrea,

thanks for the reply. It gets more confusing ... last night I had another soaker with clot, and today some bright red bleeding, like blood from a nose bleed. Took an HPT this a.m. and it is negative. Took an OPK last night and it had two lines, but it was not positive.

I just don´t know what is going on. Thanks for the suggestions ... the midwife forum did not seem to think this suggested an ectopic, but said probably see a doctor.

Of course, I´m traveling in the states (we live in Costa Rica) and I don't have a doctor here, and I don't think this merits an ER visit either. I guess I'll just see my doc when we get back to CR on the 3rd.

thanks again,
Judi

Judi-
If you don't mind me asking, where in the states are you? Perhaps I can help . . .. .

Hi, Andrea,

We're in Kansas City. I'm going to assume this is leftover miscarriage from the second one. Unless I get symptoms like fever, pain or dizziness, I'll just wait until I get back to CR. If things get worrisome, I'll have DH take me to the ER.

Thanks Andrea!!

Judi

p.s. How are you feeling these days? I hope you've found some peace with your situation.

That sounds like a good plan.

If you were closer to me (Maine, no where near KC!!!), I could help you. Though it rarely comes up, I am a doc here and have a few resources available . . . . .KC is a bit too far away, though!

Take care. I hope this sorts itself out quickly for you.

Andrea,

thanks so much for the thought anyway.

By the way, where in Maine are you from? My family is originally from Wiscasset (back to my great, great grandfather and beyond). Wherever we came from, we all settled in Maine, so there are tons of Rines in Maine (my maiden name). Wish I could convince DH to go settle there! I've never lived there, but it always feels like home to me
