flats with pins/snappi and either wool or PUL covers (Thirsties/Bummis Super Brite)...For wool covers - get ones with a good gusset - like Imse Vimse Wool Bumpy or my favorite from etsy - natural blue cloud's organic wool covers - hold everything!!!!!!

I've washed flats by hand in a sink and I line dry everything. Traditional flats (27x27) can be used from newborn to toddler - just use 1 for a newborn and add a second as a doubler (or third) as needed.

Below are directions for the origami fold.....

Yup, flats are easiest to wash. If I was going to do flats all the time, I would just fold them into a rectangle, and lay them in a PUL cover, rather than messing with all the folding.

You will get your PUL covers poopy a lot when they have liquid BF poop, though, if the diapers are just folded into a rectangle (ie about the same shape as "trifolding" a prefold). To me that is no big deal, but it would bug some people.
