I have been using FB diapers for 4 years now but usually use the Thirsties contour micro inserts b/c they are so much more absorbent.  I am thinking of buying some FB one size for my newest baby and wanted to know if the Thirsties insert will fit in the one size...are the diapers mostly the same as the regular FB in regards to dimensions when adjusted to the set sizes?

No, they are narrower through the crotch.  I don't have one of those inserts, but I know that Joey-Bunz fit well.

The OS are definitely cut differently. As PP said, they are narrower through the crotch. If the Thirsties inserts are contoured, they might fit inside a OS. I've never used those myself, so I couldn't say for sure. But if you've ever considered hemp, FB do have the new Vanilla OS diapers that comes with a Joey Bunz hemp insert. We got one and love it! Very absorbent, and not prone to compression leaks like microfiber.

What are compression leaks?  Sorry if that is a dumb question

That's not a dumb question at all! Compression leaks are basically leaks that happen when your LO squishes the insert, usually by sitting or lying on it. It happened a lot with my DD when she sat in her carseat for awhile, or when I carried her on my hip. The pressure on a MF insert just squeezes the pee out and is a common cause for leaks. With the hemp, the fibers are so compact that it isn't really affected by pressure.
