Since my baby turned 5 weeks we have been having poop explosions. I use prefolds mostly and Thirsties covers. Poo has been leaking out onto the cover. Im using infant sized Bummis PF and a snappi. Do I need bigger prefolds?? I dont have enough covers to keep dealing with this. I also have Motherease which dont leak but only about 10 so not enough to get through the day. I have BG but they leak too...

Im not really sure what to tell you with that one.  Its natural.  When I switched to luvs diapers all my problems with that ended.  Once the baby starts rice it will get better.

you could turn some of your prefolds into fitteds...elastic legs is the only solution i know of.

What fold are you using, and where are they leaking- legs or back? Most common is legs, and the jelly roll usually resolves that. Just make sure you put the roll in the crease between leg and groin, you want it to be snug around the smallest circumference area so it doesnt move and gap.

And make sure you're snappi-ing snugly. I usually have to do it twice to get it properly snug.

If its leaking up the back though, then it might be time to size up.

Not sure what to make of the pps comment about rice... Most people around here dont believe in rice cereal as a first food, nor in feeding before 6 mos. headscratch.gif:

jelly roll fold did the trick for us. You can also do a kite fold and pin/snappi it.
