I was hoping I could tap into the wealth of knowledge here. I’m expecting my first in August and we are going to cloth diaper. I’ve been researching and planning for awhile now because the road from pregnancy to potential baby has been a long one for us. However everything is going great and healthy and I’ve started to build my cloth diaper stash through buying used. I’ve gotten some awesome deals on things I could never afford new. I’m now looking for advice on what I need to fill in the gaps/round it out. So far I have:

2 imse vimse wool newborn covers

1 bummis whisper newborn

1 swaddlebees small (says small but looks itsy bitsy to my untrained eye so I’m thinking it won’t last super long)

2 lil’ joey’s aio

2 fuzzi bunz newborn pockets

2 thirstys duo newborn covers

1 bum genius newborn cover

8 kissas cloth fitteds size 0 (size 5-15lbs)

3 imse vimse wool small

3 aristocrat pull ons small

1 imse vimse wool medium

1 sckoon wool medium

I’m thinking at this point what I probably need are prefolds, cloth fitteds and one or two covers to round out the larger sizes. What would the experienced ladies here recommend? So far the Green Mountain diapers workhorse fitteds and prefolds appeal to me. Do you feel like you get a better fit using the snap fitteds or the blank ones with snapis? Do I needs any prefolds or fitteds for the newborn stage or should we stick to like 10lbs and up range? I was thinking a blueberry capri size 1 and 2 plus a bummis super snap might round things out in terms of covers? We have a washer and dryer plus a yard for line drying.

I would definitely get some prefolds. We used the bummis ones, rearz and now are on a no name one I got from a friend. We have 24 and it works perfectly for us. We use prefolds with a cover.
I can't really comment on any of your other questions though, sorry!

Thanks rainbownurse, that is helpful.   What size prefolds did you use?

we used the newborn sized, and I have nnooo idea what size we use now. I don't even know the brand. One is white with a purple edge. If that helps.
