I just washed my wool soakers for the first time-- they smell like wet animal... is that normal? I just used a little bit of soap on them. It's just the knitted soakers- the stacinator doesn't smell like anything.

Kind weird...

Perfectly normal, the smell won't be there when they dry

:LOL like wet....sheep :LOL

Yup, they don't smell very plesant when wet, but it goes away completely when dry. If the smell of urine doesn't go away, then you know it's time to wash them.

Yup, I gave my wool family a bath today to celebrate new woolwash that isn't Eucalan, and they're all smelling quite sheepish Not that I have anything against Eucalan, I just wanted to try something different. BTW, I got Doodle Bottoms sweet orange woolwash. It smells soooooooo yummy and made my wool feel unbelievably soft. And it's not even dry yet!

LOL @ Sheepish!

You could try some lavender Eucalan, but they'll still smell a bit when they're wet.

THat is a sign of GOOD wool! LOL! The less it is processed, the more it will smell like a barnyard.

You should smell burnt wool... NASTY!! I was nuking some yarn once, and I didn't think about the fact that i had wringed the pudding out of the wool, and I nuked it for much longer than it should have been. Nasty!
