For those who use wool, what do you do with your covers when you're out and about? Do you put your wool covers in a separate container/bag than the diaper or throw everything in the same bag and separate them later?

I'd like to use wool outside of the house but don't know what to do with a damp cover.

Any info would be helpful...

hmmm. my wool covers usually aren't too damp when i change a dipe so i'll re-use them. when they are damp though i throw the dipe in my wet bag and the cover in a seperate plastic bag and then hang dry it when i get home. if i put them in the same bag it gets too stinky (especially with hemp dipes) and i have to wash them when i get home.

Our wool doesn't get so saturated, but if it did get soiled or very wet, I'd put it in a separate bag (probably just a grocery bag). If I threw it in the "real" wetbag, I'd probably feel like I needed to fully wash the wool when I got home.

But generally that pair of pants just goes back on (we have shorts and long pants, no soakers except the night 'crat).

Rarely do we have a situation where the wool would be even damp so we just reuse it. If it were to get soiled then I would stick it in a 2nd wet bag (I always have 2). If it were to be damp I would probably just lay it over one of the seats in the car and let it dry out. I've layed one out one time in a stroller before too.

If the wool is getting really wet then I think it would be a good idea to beef up the diaper and/or change more frequently

I will snap the cover on the strap of my diaper bag to let it air out and use another one. Then snap that one on at the next diaper change and use a third.... then the first one will be dry for the subsequent change.

I wouldn't throw it in my wet bag it would get all yucky. DH did that once and as a pp said I had to wash it. If the cover wasn't damp I'd just reuse it if not I just throw it on the top of the diaper bag, and air it out when I get home.

Yeah, I wouldn't put it in the wetbag either. Although if it gets poop on it, then I do put it in the wetbag.

I like the idea of snapping the cover onto the diaper bag!

I have a cotton drawstring bag that I put them in...since they're never really wet, they don't get the bag wet, but it lets them air out.

I really like this idea. Much better than a non-breathable wet bag!

Dd's covers have never really gotten that wet so I usually just put it on top of the diaper bag. If one got poop on it I think I would just roll it up in the receiving blanket I use as a floor mat when changing dd until we got home. I would never stick my wool in a wet bag.

Nope, I never need to put wool in the wetbag with a dipe, it might accidentally end up in the wash.
If it got poopy, it'd go in a seperate wetbag, or I just roll it up and leave it in the back of the car till we got home.
BUt I agree, most often the wool doesnt get wet and can be reused, or it can just go inthe diaper bag or in the car.

I always use wool out! I use one of my best covers and change often! I always reuse the cover, but bring an extra one just in case he has a blow out. Not yet had that happen but just in case! If that did happen, I am not sure that I would add it to the wet bag with the poopy diaper in it. I guess it just depended on the cover!

I would never put my sweet wool in the wetbag.I like to rotate, or use the same cover and make sure i change frequently i prefer to match outfis, so I like to bring an extra matching cover if we are going to be out a while

Due with number 5 in August. We do all that crunchy stuff.
