I have started using fleece diaper covers for my DS and DD. I keep reading that I can let the cover dry and reuse it. I tried that and it smelled like pee so I just threw it in the wash. Is there something that I should do so that I don't have to wash them so much?? I can usually use it for a diaper and then one change but then it seems damp so I use another one.
I don't use fleece covers much anymore but I found that if you add a doubler or use a really absorbent diaper and change it frequently then it is less likely to saturate the fleece cover. If it gets a little damp then airing it out will probably work, you can re-use it a couple of times before it smells like urine. Fleece doesn't work the same way as wool so you will need more covers if you go that way. But they can be thrown in with the diapers or regular clothing which is plus.
Yeah, I pretty much have to wash them after each diaper change unless I happen to catch it when the diaper isn't too wet. Once the fleece gets wet, I get that pee smell too and off to the wash they go!
