I loved prefolds with bummis covers. I also LOVED my loveybums wool crepe covers for night-time. Only stinky part about them is the cord. They don't have a cut-out. I ended up folding them under to keep it away.

I love my indian prefolds and wish I had them when he was in infant sizes. I would definately get the 4X8X4 quality.

Now, I haven't tried everything out there (yet ), but that's what I would pick if I had to right this instance...

I would get the newborn prefolds offered at Green Mountain Diapers. They are a cross between infant and preemie prefolds-- they have the full dimensions of infant prefolds, but they're thinner and therefore less bulky in the early weeks. I would snappi them under something wool-- I like wool for a newborn because it's so soft.

me knit.gif, he bikenew.gif, my three reading.gif, sleepytime.gif, and fairy.gif-- and the one we lost angel2.gif

Those of you who have recommended Bummi covers with prefolds, are you talking about size Sm., or do they make a newborn cover?

Wool wrap cover, for me pretty much any brand would do for NB as long as it was side snapping. (from staccinator to kiwi pie)

Big budget: WAHM side snap velour fitteds (I would prob try to get a few each from Luxe, bottombumpers, precious Coverings, Patty Naps, VB side snapping, Lucy's Hope Chest, swaddlebees, clothmopolitan)

medium budget: KissALuv's size 0's

small budget: infant indian pf's

i would be happy with any of the 3 dipe scenarios, as long as i has my side snapping wool

Gigi. Mommy to 3 girls.

Righteous Baby FLAMs with Nikky Covers. That was my favorite combo! I had a dozen FLAMs, but I wish my whole NB stash was those

kissaluvs are a great fit on most newborns, the downside being that like most true NB size dipes they can be outgrown very quickly. they also have the reputation of being not the most absorbant diaper.
that said, for the price they are a great diaper, i had 6 in my stash last time and will probably have at least that many this time too.

oh this is such a hard question! i really really really want my answer to be something organic velour and wool, but for lilah it really wasn't. she was a pretty calm baby but man did she HATE to have her diaper changed. so i wanted to do it as quickly as humanly possible and my very favorite diapers ended up being xs/preemie fuzzi bunz for her early days.

I enjoyed using birdseye flatfolds, infant cpf's, kissaluvs 0's are awsome on newborns, and for the last baby I had a mishmash of nb/sm wahm fitteds that I enjoyed immensly. Nb and small Bummis covers are a must Oh and I did like a lambkin wool cover that I got second hand. Lambkin wool covers are underrated IMO.
