I'm getting ready to CD my first newborn I didn't start CDing until my second DD was almost a year old. So I've never done newborn diapers before. I've tried lots of things over the past year, and when it comes down to it I really like prefolds. I have a bunch of them for the new babe. What I would like is to add a few more fitteds to the newborn stash - keeping in mind that my last newborn was just over 9 lbs. I have a couple of Mutts (velour) and a couple of Kindhearted Women (hemp) , and a few Kissaluv 0's (sherpa). What I would really like to find is something super-simple, inexpensive, practically a prefold with velcro/aplix closures. Flannel, birdseye, or other cotton inner - not velour or sherpa or anything fluffy. No snaps.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm open to other suggestions, too, if there's something out there that I'm missing

I always liked the looks of Snuggle Ups from www.barefootbaby.com, although I never ordered any I tried to copy them when I first attempted to make my own diapers. They have elastic to keep in explosions and you can get them bleached or unbleached, with or without velcro. I think a 1/2 dozen in newborn size was like $26? Look under contour diapers to find them.

I've heard really good things about Pattynap's basic newborn fitteds, but I don't know if they have snaps or not though. They are super cheap though, I think $5.50/diaper. It might be worth a shot.

I really like Green Mountain Diapers' infant fitted diaper. They're similar to kissaluvs but cheaper. I think they run about $6.95 eaçh, and they do offer a discount if you buy a bunch. Oh, they're velcro and flannel, I think (definitely not sherpa)..

You could try prefold fitteds from www.tinkletraps.com or www.growmearainbow.com. Both will add aplix to them.

What about Imse Vimse organic cotton flannel contours? They fit a wide range of sizes.
Or small Under The Nile OC terry velcro fitteds?

Where might I find these?

Pattynaps doesn't seem to have anything instock, and I'm not looking to custom order. I like the look of the GMD infant fitted and the snuggle-ups as well - anyone have anything to say about these, or other recommendations? It just takes a million years to search every diapering site on the internet :

Snuggle ups were ok, but I think you can find better flannel fitteds out there. Try http://hyenacart.com/ Sometimes you can find really good deals

Do a search for flannel so you can narrow it down!

I love my WAHM dipes, but for dipes under $10 each for the newborn stage, I liked KissALuvs and Motherease Sandys

(sorry, I think both of those have snaps)
