Being a newbie here, I don't know if this question has come up lately...however if it hasn't then let's discuss the many ways in which prefolds make the ideal diaper...

So, who's going first?

ME! I am totally in love with prefolds! You can use them so many ways. You can customize folds for different body types. You always get a great custom fit. You can fold them into 3rds and lay them in a wrap and off ya go. I love using my Bumpy wool covers for that. You can use them to stuff pocket diapers. They are incredibly cheap. Around $2 for a premium size. So for around $50 you can have a whole stash of diapers. $50 is what 2 or 3 good quality fitteds? Fitteds get covered up by covers anyway so why bother? You need to buy a wider range of sizes in fitteds. Even one-size diapers dont work at either end of the weight range very well. Oh yeah another cool thing about the cost of prefolds..when they get stained and nasty like after an illness you can use them for cleaning, washing your car, a swiffer pad, etc..I have even thrown a few nasty poopy prefolds away at the mall when we drove to one that was far away and I didn't feel like toting it home. I was being lazy but thats ok I love how soft prefolds are. They are so simple they are pretty..They also absorb really well. I think that they can't be beat for a diaper system. Spend your money on covers People can see those after all..
Edited to add.. I think that using a fitted and a cover is a pain..all those snaps and such ugh. Id just as soon snappi a prefold. Its much faster for me

Well there are so many things I love about prefolds. They're cheap, easy to clean, and absorbent. I love to use them while traveling because they're easy to pack.

Unsecured prefold trifolded in a fleece cover for night means less to do up so we don't wake our toddler (we put a nighttime diaper on when we go to bed, not when he does). When he was smaller and we were using fitteds at night it was really hard to put a fitted on, then a cover without waking him. We tried AIOs for night but they didn't breathe like a trifold prefold and fleece cover do and he would wake up with his skin really soggy.

I love prefolds- they are the best. Soft, custom fit on any baby, easy to clean, dry fast, absorb a lot, get softer with each washing, not very expensive, cool in summer!

Being right is not always fair, but being fair is always right

I've always loved my prefolds, but I forgotten how much until this week when ds ended up with a wicked rash on his bum & I'd lost my only snappi. I've ony got a few wool covers & I was changing him like crazy & running out of fitteds. YIKES! I didn't want him in anything that didn't breath like crazy. My new snappis are here today & I am thrilled! I feel like a long lost friend has appeared!

prefolds!!

1) CHEAP
2) perfect fit every time, even right after a growth spurt or when DD is between sizes - no fumbling around trying to figure out which snap to use to make the thing fit right
3) super easy to wash and machine dry
4) super absorbent, always room for a doubler if I need it.
5) they fit under any cover
6) Poop rinses right off, unlike certain other fabrics
7) and they're CHEAP!
