It was great!! Thank you to all the mamas who helped me with this! I LOVED talking diapers with everyone. Strangers were asking questions...people really wanted to know about cloth!! Amazing...

I can't wait to do it again.

That sounds like it would be so much fun!

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

sounds great. i am thinking about doing one for my MOPs group and maybe at the craft show at my daughters school PTA fun raiser.

i would love to hear how you set it up and did you have info flyers printed up for them to take with website info and of course you had dipes displayed.

Oh, I want to do something like that! Can you link me to the original post, I must have missed that one, and I love that idea. I've been wanting to do it at our local craft fairs and things like that, but was wanting to wait until DD was a little bigger so I wouldn't be nursing the whole time. Boy wouldn't that be strange in my little un-natural parenting corner of the world.

I am looking into doing a couple of "baby fairs" and would love any info you have to share. The wealth of info you want to convey seems limit less and do not want to intimidate anyone with my enthusiasm so I would love to know how you generalized or how you did not! Good for you nursing too there has been some debate in the local papers about mamas nursing in public here, but us mamas have overwhelmed them and they better not snicker at us!

Well basically my advice is don't wait until midnight the night before to finally pull it all together. I had a binder of information. I put print outs with the info into plastic sleeves and left it open on the table. I don't think this worked well. Most people don't have time to stand there and read the info. I handed out a bunch of resource flyers, I included a TON of different sites. I think next time I will limit it to 20 or so. I also put my email address on there so people could contact me if they needed to ask questions. I borrowed a bunch of dipes from a couple of mamas here, so I had a TON of different things. A lot of people thought I was selling the dipes/covers, so I will definatley have a large sign that says info booth next time.

I'm conflicted on what I will do next time. I really want to stick with natural fiber stuff for personal reasons, but I also want people to switch to cding no matter what they choose. I may just emphasize the natural fiber stuff, but still have a couple other things for variety. I desplayed them very cutely(imo) We strung a small rope(twine or something) around the front of the table with tape(need something better next time), then clothespinned dipes and cover around it. I had a Teddy bear with a preemie prefold snappid on it to use as a demonstration(which I did a few times, and hubby did a couple of times too). It was great fun!!!

Modesto Doula, JodiM, and Midnightowl helped a bunch, along with HeatherSanders.
Thanks mamas!!!

You are welcome!!

Im can read your excitement about it!! Im glad you feel good about it, and that you've learned so much from just one fair! It takes most of us lots of time to recognize what we need to do better, and you are already on making plans for next time!!

YaY!! Next time will be better, and so much funner!!

And the clothesline idea is just too cute!!

I have experience/info on doing this sort of thing, if anyone wants my $1.50, email me privately...
