There is a notice on LLL website that she is shipping all orders today, which got me so excited because that means that I will get my nightly newts soon.

Then I watched the evening news, and Canada Post is going on strike.

I have been waiting for those dipes for 2 weeks so that my nighttime diapering would become more comfortable for Owen, and the last time they went on strike it was 4 weeks b4 our govt. ordered them back to work. I can't order anything else right now either then...

DH is going to be happy that our credit card is getting a rest

YIKES! I hope ours doesn't . . . what do businesses DO when the postal service goes on strike?? I feel sorry for the Canadian WAHMs that make a living off shipping diapers. That bites!

Yes, they mentioned the plight of small businesses on their report. Apparently they aren't expecting it to hit that hard because of FedEx, etc. But I can't see how it won't. And they are fighting over ridiculous stuff, like an end to a lunch break on a 5 hour shift in the Atlantic provinces. I really can't see how that would warrent stopping the entire country's mail (or my diapers! ) I will cry if they lose my dipes in this mess. (because it is all about me : )

Dang-nabbit! I cannot have my diapers sitting around at the border! That really sucks. I have many diapers on the way here right now and I cannot have those crazy customs people sitting on them.

I just wanted to add that anyone who is sending me diapers soon and is reading this please ship it fedex!! Please, please, please.

Although... if it made cloth converts out of some people then it would be for the greater good, wouldn't it?

NO! I'm not in a sharing mood right now.

I have diapers coming too, I am just not sure from where. I hope that I am not too effected.....I am really looking forward to getting my diapers! Here's to a speedy end to the strike...Obviously the Canadian Postal Serice is completely unaware of how important our diapers are to us:

Oh no Kathleen! Maybe my Kissaluvs is grounded at the boarder I don't know what I would do if our P.S. went on strike. I don't even like to think about it. The daily mail is one of my few small pleasures. Yes, my life is very boring :LOL

Luckily I live 20 min from the US border (on the Can side) so I ship all my parcels from the US. I guess if Canadians order I will have to ship by Greyhound or something.

The Postal strike will be very hard on Canadian Wahms who live in the interior though

Cheers, Carolyn

What are the deadlines as of now? I have a few things on the way to Canada and was sure hoping to beat the strike! They should if things run on time. (crossing fingers and toes!)

Not fun!

They were suppose to strike at midnight last night but are still at the table talking what they want etc. No strike yet but they say it will probably happen, which will only hurt the post office even more because Purolator and FedEx have already given the word that they will take up the slack like they did in 1997.

Oh no! I am so sorry!

I would have some serious issues if I couldn't look forward to the mail everyday

Mail strikes are common here in Israel. It'sa a pain, but you get used yto it. hang in there!!!! It's one of those things that they'll try and resolve quickly because businesses and the government can;t function well without the mail.
