I'm such a rookie!

I think I have decided I want to do prefolds with PUL-type covers and whatever cute wool I can get for cheap. I have a couple AIO's and pockets, but I really don't know what I'll be into until Baby is here but at least I have those to try, KWIM?

So...... how many of what do I need? I realized I need to break out of the mindset that I had with DS and accept that this little girl is LITTLE and probably not going to get ginormous so fast like DS did and thus it's ok to have a good amount of things in very small sizes.

What covers will stretch between sizes the most? I know there are one size deals, but they mostly say they don't fit newborns well. Is there anything that goes well from newborn to small?

I don't mind spending a bit more for good quality, but I'm pretty cheap, so I would like to keep it as low budget as I can.

Thanks for your help

for newborn pul covers i like proraps - i also liked the polar bummis cuz they are so soft (but larger than the nb prorap), but they do get soaked faster than a pul. i find that the thirsties brand run much bigger, even the size small so my baby didnt fit into that til she weighed about 13ish lbs or maybe a little more - and she still fits into it now at 19lbs.

Newborn Bummis Super Whisper Wraps fit dd at birth and for quite a while afterwards, much longer than newborn Proraps.
