I just had to switch from prefolds to flats and I have just been folding them in a rectangle into the cover but now my son is having an EC strike and the rectangle deal isnt working out too well (if you know what I mean).

I tried folding them like it shows here but the rise is too short. How can I get it longer but still have a few layers in the middle?

HELP!

This is how I fold them for my boy:

I fold them in half, so that they are a long rectangle. The width is now about the width of a premium prefold.

Next I fold up the bottom, customizing the rise. Now it is the size of a custom prefold.

Then I use it like a prefold, in the newspaper fold (lay baby on the diaper--bottom will be on just a couple layers at top. fold sides in between legs, bring up between legs, spread the front a bit, and pin or snappi).

I keep telling myself I am going to try flats - but just thinking about them overwhelms me LOL I love how they look though - I really need to make myself try them

Thanks, I think I figured out how to make the rise higher. Of course after I folded all of them the shorter way! Flats are definitely trimmer, I was hating that huge bubble butt :!
