i finally ordered 1 bg one size so i could test it out. got it in the mail today and was so excited! LOL anyhow, do i really need to wash it first? what mainstream detergent is best? or do i really need to head up to the health food store to pick up the good stuff? and if she does get a rash (depends on what i eat) i should use a disp liner (read that on another post) right? no ointment on the cloth. any other things i should know this is my first time venturing into cloth.....

u should def wash it first, and maybe several times. no fab softener or sheets - i use arm and hammer essentials - its concentrated so it makes less trash and works well on all my dipes. oh and i have used ointment with my cds - usually i just put a pf on her if she has the ointment on, but a couple times my mom put on ointment and an fb - i wash with a little dish soap and the ointment comes right out, no problem.

I've been using regular old Tide ( I have BGs and FBs), and don't have any huge problems. I have to strip them with Dawn every 2 months or so.
