I'm planning to supplement my newborn stash with prefolds and have two questions:

#1 What's the difference between the CPFs that cost like $1 and the fancier pfolds that cost like $6 or &7? Does it matter for an infant?

and

#2 What covers do you recommend for laying pfolds in? I was planning to use the Thirsties with my fitteds, and maybe a couple of Blueberry minkies (for photo ops, of course!).

well i have ever seen a pf that costs 6 or $7 unless it was embellished in some way? i prefer indian pfs over chinese, i had a few cpfs when dd was an infant and they didnt seem as absorbant as ipfs. these are the ones we use.

we have also always used thirsties for pfs (have never used fitteds) and they work great and last forever.

gl!

The CD store in our town (BeBop Baby shop in Vermont) sells both the $2 Indian prefolds and the $7 Bamboo Velour prefolds.

I think it is texture -- the bamboo are fancier -- but I don't know because I'm too cheap to buy those.

Yeah exactly. The bamboo ones or hemp and bamboo cost like 7 bucks each. I want to buy a few. I have some bamboo mama cloth that is so soft. As far as covers, I almost always secure prefolds with a snappi but I have folded and laid a prefold in thirsties no problem.
