we have been trying to figure out some possible food sensitivities with 21 mo dd EC grasd at 18 mo.  our naturopath is having she and I cut out wheat, eggs, citrus, dairy and soy for 7 day then reintroduce 1 at a time, I digress.  Point is, we began on monday and have been eating lots of rice based foods...rice pasta, rice cereal, etc...and all the sudden, dd is wetting the bed 2x a night and wetting during theday too without realizing the impending urge to pee.  she began to pee on me this morning 2x, once nursing in bed after waking, the other sitting on my lap.  As soon as I would say, "you're peeing, go to the potty", she would jump up in surprise and run the potty to finish peeing and be dissapointed in herself. she has also had increased urination.

I am a bit baffled, so I went on line to see if rice is a diuretic, and who knew, but IT IS.  do you think that this increase in rice could be what is causing these misses?  has anyone else had this or similar experience?

does anyone have any ideas on other wheat alternatives that we could try instead of rice?

update...she has had 2 more misses today.  one she recognized and we got her to the potty to finish.  the other we did not catch in time.

it is funny, diet is the thing that comes to mind first because it is the biggest change in her routine, but it doesn't seem like she is aware that her diet is different, so it is not emotionally cannect...she is working on her bottom molars and one is really pressing hard, but i don't remember this causing a potty pause in the past.

anyone out there.

It is definitely possible, I know a lot of people have more misses with watermelon, another diuretic food as well as with foods that they are intolerant to.

Maybe try quinoa instead of some of the rice?
