We are getting through most days now with very few misses, sometimes none, and I think we're ready to start using more training pants and fewer diapers.  But DS isn't quite 3 months old yet so he still gets "leaky butt" when he sneezes or coughs or sometimes for no obvious reason.  Then we end up throwing many dry training pants in the dirty diaper bin that are otherwise clean except for a little poo stain/streak.  Seems like a waste... I have a few tiny tush inserts I use with his diaper and I've tried putting those in so I can just replace the insert if needed but they seem to be too long and bulky for our training pants.  If I recall correctly babies eventually get better sphincter control and this issue will resolve itself soon.  I remember with DD, I had her entirely in training pants at 4 mo, but I didn't discover EC with her til she was 7 weeks old; whereas with DS we started at 5 days so he's reaching this stage sooner before good sphincter control sets in.  Have any of you used flushable liners in this stage?  Do poo stains saturate through the liner and onto the training pant? Alternatively, is there a good thin washable insert that can be used with training pants?  (We're using non-waterproof bikini britches with side snaps from EC wear and I ordered a couple similar styled training pants from continuum family concept).

I just use a folded cloth wipe.  If a little leaks through, it will be covered by the next cloth wipe.  Even still I have to wash more diapers for poop smears than pee.
