We started part time EC with my DD at 11 months and switched (mostly) to cloth diapers around 12 months. She's been happy to pee/poop/try/sit on the potty and more recently the toilet all along with the occasional short strike. She would, however, pee often and it wasn't unusual for her to pee on the potty, then have a wet diaper 20 minutes later. She's now 23 months old and has been sporadically dry for longer, often up to an hour. She asks to poop in the potty thank goodness or she will poop when I put her on to try. But yesterday, she kept dry for 3 hours in the afternoon/evening (asked to potty for pee twice). Overnight she used her diaper then pottied first thing in the morning. Then she stayed dry for 3 hours straight without using the potty but had a big one just before her nap! This is huge for her! Dry for three hours! Holding pee and asking/waiting for the potty! I know it's just the last 18 hours or so but this is monumental and I hope it's just the beginning. I'd love to have her in undies for her second birthday at the end of March. I just had to share, I'm one proud mama! It goes to show that EC is very valuable even if not done full time from birth (which is ideal). To all you EC mamas, keep up the good work! Don't get discouraged. Even if there's a lengthy strike, or if they still need diaper support, our kids are learning in a natural, relaxed way about their bodies. I'm so happy I chose to stick with EC despite the mainstream community I live in joy.gif
