My newborn son prefers to eliminate in the sink over the top hat potty. At night, we have a lot of misses due to my reluctance to take him to a different room to eliminate. Any suggestions on encouraging pottying in the little potty? We have a potty cover. Thanks!

My oldest was about 2 mo old and nearly 20 lbs when we started EC so I wanted to get him used to the potty ASAP 'cause I was scared I'd drop him if he took too long to finish his business
Set the potty either in the sink or right next to it so they are in the same position that you use when pottying into the sink. Over time just lower the babe onto the potty until their weight is on it - taking as much time as the babe needs to adjust to the new position. Once they're used to the potty, you can use it wherever. I think it only took a couple of days for us.
On the other hand, my youngest was ECed from birth while he was in the NICU. I'd just potty him into an open diaper in my lap. I don't think he really ever took to going in the sink and actually preferred to be held in some way for a long time (and he was just as heavy as his brother )
