Hi there. My name is Adina and dh and I are in the process of ttc #1. I would like to have a homebirth (tho I live in an apartment and I am not sure about my comfort level) and I am sort of stumped about where to start looking for a midwife and how to get to know them, how much they charge etc. etc. I would love to know if anyone knows of a midwife or is one in the Boulder area.
Thanks much!!!!

Try midwiferytoday.com

They have a "find a midwife" section on their site.

Okay - I have looked on all the sites...and have only been able to find hospital based midwifes. Help me....does anyone know anyone who is in the Boulder area? I am totally at a loss - I am not wanting a birth in a hospital (if I ever manage to get pg!!) and I don't really want to look in the phone book...ya know? Any advice?

I'm not in Boulder--an hour away near Evergreen. My neighbor had a homebirth and is studying to be a lay midwife. I have to return some books to her today and will ask for you. If anyone will know she will.

Adina I wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten about you. My neighbor has some personal stuff going on and will get me some names shortly. She said she knows some wonderful midwives in your area. I am hoping to hear from her by later this week--I hope that is not too long for you.

I replied to another post under Homebirth, but here's the same info:
I had a homebirth in Broomfield with a wonderful midwife from Boulder. Her name is Elizabeth Moore. If you pm me, I'll give you her phone number.
Good luck!

I hope you've had luck finding a midwife. I live East of Aurora and was looking a few months ago. I had contacted one in Lafayette and there are several in the Denver area. Most travel up to 60 miles from there practice or home. If you do a search on "find a midwife in Colorado" you should get some names and #'s. Good luck and if you need #'s let me know!!~Blessed Be

2 hospital births, 2nd homebirth in December!

Hi, Out there!

There are many wonderful midwives in Boulder and in Denver! Jennier Braun (pronounced Brown), Jennifer Dossett, and Ursula Hessdorfer are a few that I have worked with. I have a friend who used Elizabeth Moore also, and really liked her. Good luck on your search!
