I have be woundering if i need to go to the doula training course. I have been helping at births for 2 years now .. basicly as a doula. I have read the recomended books and worked with another doulas. Do i have to goto the class to be a doula ... and get paid for it. Any info would be great.

Hi! Certification is not a requirement to be a doula, in large cities it can be a real plus since clients like seeing credentials... But your skills and compassion will sell themselves. Doula training is nice if you have had little past experience with assisting laboring moms, it helps with skills and confidence.

Beyond that it is a matter of marketing yourself effectively, and being organized... There are great books out there on that aspect of it as well... (try the ICEA catalog)
