Hi! I've been wanting to train as a midwife for a very long time now, and am wondering about how other lay-midwives went about getting their training? I am currently living in Wichita, if that helps (or if there happens to be someone here from there, that'd be wonderful!!!) TIA!!

I KNOW there is at least one lay midwife in the Wichita area. A close friend of mine apprentices with a lay mw here in Lawrence. She is going through Ancient Arts for her midwifery training. There is one lay mw from the KC area that I would stay away from--she is horrible, lies, gives poor care, and is giving lay mws a bad name. Both state attorney generals are investigating her.

If you are interested in some names and contact info, you can pm me and I will provide what I can!
