I read about it in heart and hands and i've been having PTL signs the last 3 days and noticed that line which would put me at about 5cm if its true. Is there any truth to it?

Seriously?

Maybe or maybe not. I've seen it happen only closer to 2nd stage. Or if the baby is posterior.

have seen a streak on many a backside peaking above any cheek when a woman is fully dilated
but I have also seen some red irritated skin on some women that has nothing to do with dilation

This is Satori over at lilgsmommys, ended up at L&D tonight for what felt like horrible back labor and i'm only 33 weeks and did have that line but cervix was closed so I don't think the purple line thing will work for me I was looking forward to being able to tell dialation without an exam.

I'm fine on that front, we found out the problem and its the 2nd time i've been to L&D in the last 2 weeks due to it so i'll be talking to the Dr tomorrow about it because its an easy fix its just a matter of finding the right dosage because the current one isn't cutting it. Good news is the ffn test was neg so i'm not likely to give birth in the next 2 weeks

Seriously?

I've mostly seen it as the baby is coming down, in late labor or pushing, not as early as 5 cm, and not on everyone.
I'm glad you're not likely to have your baby before 35 weeks. Hooray!

I've had a red line above my butt since my daughter was born 22 months ago. I know I havent' been 7 cm since her birth.
