Oh cool. If I can manage to pull it off, maybe I will get ahold of you and we could meet up just for kicks on the day I come up!

I so had been planning on it. Our very own Pam is even speaking on two of the days! But, y'know, I may be busy around then... (Although I was joking that if the kid still hasn't made an extrauterine appearance by then, I may just go down there when Pam's presenting - I mean, I wouldn't want my midwife 3 hours away when I'm 40+ weeks pregnant, right? )

I have just decided in the last week to go. I'm excited! Wow, didn't know that Pam was presenting! Now I'm even more geeked! Heck, Arwyn, I'd say that your midwife being three hours away otherwise would be a perfect reason to go! Who'd want to go into labor so far from their midwife? And, I suppose, if you DID happen to go into labor while Pam was actually presenting...you'd have a LOT of great alternatives to help out!!

Mama to two awesome kids. Wife to a wonderful, attached, loving husband. I love my job-- I'm a Midwife, Doula and Childbirth Educator, Classes forming now!

I'll be there with my wee little babe. It's Michel Odent that I'll be thrilled to see! Now I just have to figure out how to fund my going...These conferences are so wonderful.

Toni...you and I should know each other...both almost ready to have babies, live in Eugene, midwives-to-be...maybe we do?

wow, never noticed how many of you girls actually live in the area. It would be neat to meet other MDC mamas. Now i really need to find a way to pay for this, wish i could do the whole weekend. Now i have to go look and try to figure out how to pick just one day. SOOOOO Hard!

I'm so excited to meet my midwifery mentor/idol, Sara Wickham! Michel Odent will be amazing, too. I have two clients due during that time (hey, Arwyn), but I feel like both will either have their babies before or after the conference.

Arwyn, I think I'm closer to 2 hours away in Eugene, maybe 2 hours 20 minutes, from you! Just come down if you haven't had your babe!

I have no idea. To tell you the truth, I have a rough outline of what I *should* be talking about but it's not really clear in my mind how it will work out. I'm hoping to just facilitate a dialogue of attendants on unhindered birth.

The only factor holding me back is that my youngest hasn't been away from me for longer than 4-5 hours at a stretch yet. If I can plan it so my partner and baby can come stay at the hotel and I can nurse her during lunch breaks or something then I will probably end up going.

That could make it hard. I know I was never able to leave my babies at that age either.
I am to the point that my youngest is 3 now and I only live an hour away. It is only the money that is holding me back. SOOOO frustrating!!

I am hoping to go too
It's going to depend on finances, but we are going to really try to make it work.

WOW! I just checked it out. I'd LOVE to go, but it's a bit too pricey for me. If I should make it there I'll look for you all. If not (or either way) let me know if someone needs a living room floor to crash on.

I wish I was going, but I don't think that will be a reality between school and lack of money. I hope you all enjoy it for me.

If I go Visa is paying for it but at this point I have already justified paying the interest to myself and I think I'm okay with it,

Oh, I really want to go! Especially after a day like today, I am fanasizing about running away to Oregon and leaving all the kids with my husband.... and going to a conference and then maybe out for a drink or two..... ahhhhh, that would be nice. Hmmmm.... I just don't think there is any $$$ to do that though. Poo.

Erika, mama to three beautiful kids (plus one gestating), and wife to one fantastic man.

Erika you HAVE to come! Oh that would be so fun. I want to come and would love to see Michael Odent and Pam. I just don't think I can justify the money for a midwifery conference when I have no intention of becoming a midwife. I would love to be included in any Eugene area MDC meet up. Lennon we will have to have lunch or something while you attend.
