I hope that somebody can help me w/ some info on this. I just started my 37th week. Had no complications whatsoever( other than extensive morning sickness first 5 months) and all of a sudden my amnio fluid is high. My midwife send me for ultrasound, baby measures at 6.6#, moves, practices breathing, swallows and measures great. No problem there. Last week my amnio lfluid evel was 26( instead of average 10), this week it is almost 29. So it is still raising slightly....I did lots of reading and nothing indicates that I can affect this in any way. But my midwife's talk about possible induction, non stress tests, weekly monitoring ultrasounds and possible amniocentesis( sp?) bring me down as I had my heart set on waterbirth at birth center. She doesn't even want to recommend me there anymore

Does anybody have any experience or insight on this?
thank all so much!

there are ways to increase the amniotic fluid, but not sure about decreasing it.

have they looked at the kidneys well? is baby's bladder full? sometimes, with increased fluid, it could be a sign of the baby's kidneys not functioning well.

most other times, however, it's perfectly normal and there isn't a reason why.

I'm sorry you're being scared into losing your birth center birth! Is there anything your midwife is telling you about it?
