My doula clients who have had quick births have all been regular recipients of chiropractic care. The fastest labor I've personally heard of was the wife of a chiropractor. The fastest labor I've attended was 2hrs--I barely made it. The mom got adjusted weekly. She also mucked stalls and rode her horse up until her birth.
My biology mind tends to agree with this. I think that the length of labors depend alot on position of the baby and high movement / low resistence in the mom. Also imagine how this is compounded with a rupture of membranes: a hard boney baby head is a more efficient mechanical dilator of the cervix than a swishy bag of waters. When the "stars" align, babies are born fast!
After 4 m/c, our is here!
