This may sound like a rant fest but need to know if anyone else feels this bad. I have a thirteen yr old...her father is no longer living. His parents are not in picture. I have no support of family or friends due to their commitments.
Well..here it goes. My daughter is very bright..qualified for her short story written in school to go on to state competition.however I have to work that day. I have asked everyone at work to try to switch schedule but no one is willing to or cannot because its a weekend, etc. So I have to tell my child she cannot go to this competition because no one can take her. This is a great opportunity for her but she will have to miss it.
I feel terrible about it.you want your kids to be successful but then cannot support that..because she was born into a marriage that failed after one year she has to suffer. I feel like I fail as a mom. I already keep her from trying out for school sports because I cannot possibly get her to all the games/ practices and now this. I am literally sick and on the verge of crying. No one at work understands...because they all have a back uP of their spouse.
Does anyone else experience something similar?
