Thanks, Lex and Megan Sacha.

I'm calming down, taking the day to rest, and reminding myself that it's more likely to bleed after IVF and fertiliyt treatments, too, because my endometrium was SO thick at the time of the transfer, like 14 mm or something insane.

Hang on, ember and egbert. Please hang on.

I'll update you guys as soon as I know something.

Papa, I had cramping, spotting, and bleeding in my first pregnant cycle, the one that ended in miscarriage. And then, I had the exact same cramping, spotting, and bleeding the next time. It was terrifying, and I was sure that I was losing another pregnancy. But I wasn't. It passed, and my pregnancy was totally fine.

I know that there's nothing I can say to ease your mind right now. But know that I'm thinking of you, and that all that any of those things mean is that you're pregnant.

Thanks everyone!

I'm feeling much, much better. The cramping stopped, and the bleeding got heavier for a bit but only briefly, and now it seems to have stopped. There's still a little spotting, but nothing major, and I'm back to gushing clear fluid like I have been for the past ten days or so.

Indigo - good idea, especially because I might have missed a dose yesterday. The clinic said it shouldn't matter, but I spaced them a little me closely today and I'll do four instead of three by the end of the day. I'll probably plan on the same thing tomorrow.

I should have beta results tomorrow PM, I'm going first thing in the AM to get the labs drawn.

Keep sending the sticky, sticky glue my way.

One thing I have to say, this, along with my entire experience of infertility and losses has made it much clearer to me who my friends really are.

My friends are the people whose joy for me is unqualified, and whose support is unwavering.

Today I realized that some of the people that I have trusted my heart to are really not keeping it well. I had a friend basically tell me today that maybe I should just give up on being a birth parent. Another told me that IVF babies have birth defects anyway, so I shouldn't be surprised. Ouch. But several friends have called me and texted me to check in on me, or touched base here or on facebook or e-mail or whatever. They've reminded me that this is normal, that lots of people have spotting, that it's especially common with twins or IVF or fertility meds or whatever. That this might not mean the end. That I can do this, that it can be Ok. Those friends are the keepers.

Hang in there Papa. My BFF cramped and spotted *very* early in her pregnancy and rushed to the hospital with what she thought was a miscarriage. Nope, no miscarriage just TWINS! I know none of us can actually know what's going on in there, but we're all pulling for you and there is plenty of evidence that spotting and cramping are just that, spotting and cramping, with little medical meaning beyond that. Hang in there.

Thanks, everyone!

Scalpel - I transferred to embies with IVF, I don't know if one or both are taking so far....the heartbeat ultrasound is going to be around the 12th or so, and they don't want to do one earlier (though that might change with the spotting).

GOOD NEWS! I had the one bit of spotting, nothing since. I did the third beta this morning, waiting for results.

Beta was good!

Still no spotting or cramping, and I walked the dogs for over an hour, no problem! YAY!

1st beta - Tuesday Jan 26 - 100

2nd beta - Friday Jan 29 - 459

3rd beta - Monday Feb 1 - 1835

So, the first doubling time is 32 hours, the second is 36, which are both totally fine.

Wahoodle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd leap with joy, were I not feeling totally sick. This is the best news. I'm breathing a sigh of relief second only to the one I'm sure you took upon hearing the news.

I'll continue with the tape and glue thoughts, of course. In the meantime, enjoy each day of this!

And Spuncle -- that completely rocks!!!

Wonderful news, Papa!
And still more for your brewing babe.
We transferred two embryos when I got pregnant with Esmé and had some spotting/bleeding early on, likely when we 'lost' the second embryo. I wonder if the same thing is/was happening for you? I see a singleton in your future ...

And, exhale. Phew. Not that I was really worried (I am feeling quite confident in this pregnancy), but I hate that you've had to be any more worried than you'd naturally be.
