I'm Rynna, I'm from right here and I don't know how many partners I have. Is that awful or what? All depends on what/how you count, though.

Roll call, huh?

I actually do answer to Indigo on the street, but just as often called Aimee Indigo to separate me from the dozen other Amys I am sure you know. (Okay, Aimee is really pronounced em-AY, but who calls me that but my mom when she is REALLY ticked?)

At the moment it's just DP and me, although he has a couple "playmates" nothing serious. Been a weird year for both of us. I think he's been slowly recovering from his last love. They never really broke up, she just moved and drifted away. And I just haven't met anyone that sparks.

My family of 3 (plus pup) Indigo (Aimee), Rob (dp), Ryne (ds) & Phebe (dog), plus my BIL's family of 3.

You know what's sad?

Having two partners who love me deeply and still weeping like a baby whenever i see someone doing something incredibly romantic for their SO in a monogamous relationship.

Isn't that just silly?

I've spent the last four days in the hospital with a massive, wicked kidney infection. It was so nice to see all of my loves take turns and sometimes coming together to visit me. I may have felt like crap but I also have felt so incredibly loved at the same time. Now I'm just ready to be HOME already.

Hello there. Can't remember if I ever actually posted to the other thread, though I was a reader of it. I'm M and from Indiana. I'm also in the position of not quite knowing how many partners I would say I have. I'm in the process of getting divorced, but he still lives here part-time as we go through the transition. I newly have a boyfriend, but that is brand new, we've been together officially less than a month. *basking in the glow of NRE*. I also have a play partner for over a year now who at times I have called a boyfriend, but generally (and currently) do not. Plus I have just been enjoying getting out there and dating lately, getting to know the poly community more and such, and have several other people who would fall into the play partner or casual dating categories probably.

Hi fellow poly mamas! What fine providence to stumble on this during the babe's nap and see that I'm in such good company!

I'm in Oly, WA with one partner at the moment. we're very committed and he's the baby daddy.

Our son was born last sept., and we had agreed that we wanted to maintain our current exclusivity for a while since this is our first and we had no way of knowing how it would effect our relationship dynamic. But I'm maybe starting to feel like I am open to another (female) lover. What I'm wondering is if anyone else has had a similar experience? How long did you wait? Am I crazy?

Where's majikfaerie?? I miss her.

After a long sexual hiatus for me (DP's sex drive was down due to pregnancy and eczema, and bf was very very busy with work and school), I finally got some!! First bf came to visit for a lovely romp, then a week later, my partner snapped out of her funk! YEAH!!! I feel great!! Also, I met a lovely new friend online... She's SUPER nice!!

placenta.gifeat.gif I'm a queer / trans-activist / poly / pagan / (dis)abled  / crazy / crunchy partner to fsonj; we're mamas to our unschooled/freeskooled 10yo, and co-breastfeed our sprightly toddler love.gif born Nov '10! (Ask me about how to supplement at the breast!)

Well it's just a few weeks after saying I was done with boys (and maybe girls) and dating for a while...and now it looks like I have a boyfriend.

So far he's great. Maybe I have grown up some and am choosing better people. Only time will tell. I haven't even had the poly discussion with him yet but my poly preference was plastered all over the online profile that he first met me on. So he has to a least be a little aware of it.

One thing at a time though. But right now I'm all giddy and excited about him. I feel like I'm 15 again.

So a question for you all. Are you open with your family about being poly? Do you tell others that you are ?

We are pretty open about being poly & if the family doesn't know, it's because they choose not to know, you know? They are very good at not acknowledging what they don't get. But we have been who we are and I think it goes the same with friends & co-workers... if they are the type of folk who ask the right types of questions then they are aware. We don't hide it, we also don't broadcast it.

Nothing would surprise my family anymore yk? I took two girls as my dates to one of my high school dances. They know but we don't really discuss it ever. Me and my decisions get nothing more than a raised eyebrow anymore, if that.

However my family isn't religious (expect for some pagan folk) and there have been other poly people in my family. So I'm not the trail blazer here.

Mark does not feel comfortable to be open to our parents, particularly his. I barely communicate with mine, so it is not really necessary to deal with that. His brothers are aware that we are in an open relationship. I'm fairly open in general with all the local people that know me. Our family does not live near us.

Mark and I are attending a Munch tonight. A local poly friend is going with us. We do not have any munches near us, so we are traveling to Yonkers, NY. It is about a 45 min drive.

Enjoy!

shanetedissac - Have fun at the munch and let us know how it goes I go to one every second Saturday, plus another event (Kinky Coffee) on the last Wednesday of each month. I don't know what I'd do without my kinky family.

As far as family being "in the know" about my being poly.... not so much. My mom knows about my fiance, of course and she knows I have a girlfriend but if she knew about my Sir (who is *not* my fiance) or the flirtation I have going with a transgendered individual she'd probably freak out. I'm not close enough to any of my other family for them to have any need to know.
